President
Chris Carter has nearly 20 years of investment, engineering, and operating management experience, during which he has closed several billion dollars of highly structured transactions while working for both public and private entities.
Mr. Carter started his career in the energy lending group of BBVA Bank, where he honed his knowledge of the oil and gas credit market. Following his time with BBVA, Carter transitioned into a role as a Global New Ventures Manager for Schlumberger, where he managed a $50 million research and development budget, and a multi-hundred-million-dollar business segment. After this role he was moved onto Schlumberger’s merger and acquisition team, which provided him the opportunity to act in a leadership capacity on the Smith International acquisition, the Cameron One Subsea joint venture, and subsequently the acquisition of Cameron.
Post his time with Schlumberger, Mr. Carter moved to an upstream oil and gas company and managed a portfolio of non-operated investments totaling over $250 million dollars. After successfully exiting the portfolio for a substantial return on capital employed, Mr. Carter co-founded an upstream oil and gas operating company focused on the Eagle Ford formation of South Texas.
In 2020, Mr. Carter joined the Fletcher Petroleum team, where he has been serving as President of Fletcher Petroleum, and it’s holding company, TruRoc Resources. The entity’s primary business is the identification and development of oil and gas assets across the Gulf Coast region. Over the course of the past three years, Mr. Carter has successfully restructured the organizational structure, and completed two recapitalizations. Together, the organization has grown Proven Developed Producing reserves from $20 million in 2020 to over $75 million today and total proven reserves to an excess of $150 million.
Carter attended both Texas A&M University and the University of St. Thomas. He holds a B.B.A in Finance, and an MBA, in International Business and Finance.
